Steve McClaren

Steve McClaren was appointed as the head coach following the 2006 World Cup. The reign was marked with little success, with England failing to qualify for the 2008 European Championships. McClaren left on 22 November 2007, after only 16 months in charge and making him the shortest tenured full time England manager ever since the inauguration of the post in 1946. He was replaced on 14 December 2007 by the former Real Madrid and AC Milan manager Fabio Capello.

The Italian is the second foreign manager to coach England, after Eriksson, and took charge of his first game on 6 February 2008 against Switzerland. England won 2–1. England have enjoyed more success under Capello, having won all but one of their qualifying games for the 2010 World Cup. A 5-1 victory over Croatia at Wembley Stadium ensured the team qualified for the final tournament with two games to spare, a feat that has never been achieved before.

A tribute to Alf Ramsey

Sir Alfred Ernest "Alf" Ramsey (22 January 1920 – 28 April 1999) was an English footballer and manager of the English national football team from 1963 to 1974. His greatest achievement was winning the 1966 World Cup with England on 30 July 1966. They also came third in the 1968 European Championship and reached the quarter-final stage of the 1970 World Cup and the 1972 European Championship under his management. He was knighted in 1967 in recognition of England's World Cup glory the previous year.

As a player, he had been capped 32 times between 1948 and 1954, scoring three goals, and was part of the Tottenham Hotspur team which in 1951 became the first English team to be champions of the top flight a year after promotion.

Between the end of his playing career and his appointment as England manager, Ramsey was Ipswich Town manager for eight years, taking them from the Third Division to the top of the First Division in that time.

His final job in football was manager of Birmingham City, which he left in March 1978.

England football team offered Viagra for World Cup

Scientists claim the blue pills will enhance the performance of coach Fabio Capello's men. Viagra will apparently help the boys raise their game and help them beat the effects of playing at altitude. News of the World reveals that England's World Cup 2010 football squad may well be popping the blue pills in next summer's Finals to help improve lung capacity. Manager Fabio Capello is considering dishing out Viagra before every match after research by scientists proved the drug could help players perform better.

The England team plan to have their training camp based in Rustenburg, South Africa, which is 4,921ft above sea level. And experts reckon Viagra can help the lads combat altitude, which affected England's 1970 World Cup flops in Mexico. Sports scientist Richard Pullen has been commissioned by the FA to come up with special training techniques to help beat this altitude issue. He said: "I'll point out to the England squad the potential benefits of using Viagra for games played at altitude.

"It's scientifically proven that the process of how Viagra works in the body, by enlarging the blood vessels, can improve performance of some athletes. "Also known as sildenafil, it's been used by football teams in South America and some cyclists because it's not a banned substance. "I'm sure several countries at the World Cup will consider using Viagra." But Pullen warned: "There can be some side effects which might adversely effect performance, such as blurred vision, headaches or flushed faces." Apart from the obvious potential problem in the players' shorts, another side effect of Viagra is a blue tinge to the eye.

England's chief physio Gary Lewin will analyse the pros and cons of using Viagra before making a recommendation to Capello, who has the final say. It would then be up to players if they wanted to use Viagra.

First permanent home ground for England

Before Wembley, London was opened, England had no permanent home ground. England joined FIFA in 1906, playing its first ever game outside the British Isles in 1908. However, the relationship between the two was strained, resulting in the British nations' departure from FIFA in 1928, before rejoining in 1946. As a result, England did not compete in a World Cup until 1950, in which they were beaten in a 1–0 defeat against the United States, failing to get past the first round.

England's first ever defeat on home soil to a non-UK team was a 0–2 loss to Ireland on 21 September 1949 at Goodison Park, Liverpool. A 6–3 loss in 1953 to Hungary was England's first ever defeat to a non-UK team at Wembley. In the return match in Budapest, Hungary won 7–1, which still stands as England's worst ever defeat. Ivor Broadis scored the England goal. After the game bewildered England centre half Syd Owen said, “It was like playing people from outer space".

Wayne Rooney will take his first step towards becoming England's captain

Wayne Rooney will take his first step towards becoming England's long-term captain by taking the armband for the first time in tomorrow night's friendly against Brazil with John Terry expected to be ruled out with an ankle injury.

The Manchester United striker's appointment would be all the more remarkable given that, only last Sunday, his angry reaction to defeat at Chelsea prompted a warning from the Football Association. The 24-year-old had mouthed "12 men" into a television camera in disgust at the performance of the referee, Martin Atkinson, yet Fabio Capello said today that Rooney is capable of emulating the likes of Pelé, Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff, Franz Beckenbauer and Michel Platini by flourishing as a captain.

The England medical staff will assess Terry's condition again tomorrow after he twisted his ankle blocking a shot from Jermaine Jenas in training. Yet Capello has stressed that the Chelsea defender will not play "unless he is 100% fit", leaving England shorn of all but Rooney and Gareth Barry of their first-choice side against the five-times World Cup winners. The situation may prompt Rooney's appointment by default, though Capello has long considered the striker as a captain in the making.

ENGLAND AMONG TOP WORLD CUP SEEDS

England's World Cup hopes have been given a major boost after they were named as one of the eight top seeds for next summer's finals - but France miss out.

FIFA's World Cup organising committee announced the seeds based on October's FIFA world rankings and Fabio Capello's side will avoid host country South Africa plus footballing giants Brazil, Spain, Holland, Italy, Germany and Argentina in the group stage.

With France and Portugal unseeded however, Capello will be acutely aware that his side could still end up in a tough group in Friday's draw.

France were involved in a hugely-controversial play-off win over the Republic of Ireland and there is the suspicion that Les Bleus are being punished for Thierry Henry's infamous handball.

FIFA insist however that had no bearing on their decision - but they have abandoned their previous practice and used rankings alone rather than also taking into account performances at previous finals. The best scenario would see England take on Slovenia, Algeria and North Korea.

Rankings alone have not been used in the past but FIFA relaunched the system with much fanfare a couple of years ago, boasting the new-look rankings were much more indicative of a country's current position in world football.

Uniform Colors

England's traditional home colours are white shirts, navy blue shorts and white socks. Since 2001, the team has periodically worn white shorts during home matches.

The traditional England away colours are red shirts, white shorts and red socks, although England did not need an away kit until they played against a non-British side. From 1945 to 1952, England wore a blue away kit. In 1996 England's away kit was changed to grey shirts, shorts and socks. This kit was worn against Bulgaria, Germany and Georgia but the deviation from traditional red was unpopular with supporters and since then the England away kit has remained red. Periodically, the red kit is worn during home matches.

On 28 March 2009, England debuted a new Umbro retro inspired all white home kit, in the 4–0 friendly victory over Slovakia at Wembley. The new kit replaces the traditional navy blue shorts with white shorts. However, the traditional navy blue shorts were used during the team's 1-0 loss against Ukraine on October 10, 2009.

Media coverage

From the 2008–09 season to the 2011–12 season, England's home qualifiers and away friendlies will be shown live on ITV. Away qualifiers and home friendlies were shown live on Setanta Sports until the company went into administration in June 2009. Currently, no broadcaster has been chosen to take over these games, along with the FA Cup, with the FA looking for a replacement. As a result of the demise of Setanta, England's World Cup qualifier in Ukraine on 10 October 2009 was shown in Britain on a pay-per-view basis via the internet only. This one-off event was the first time an England game had been screened in such a way. The number of subscribers, paying between £4.99 and £11.99 each, was estimated at between 250,000 and 300,000, and the total number of viewers at around 500,000.

In Australia, England national football team home games and selected away games are broadcast by Setanta Sports Australia.

All matches are broadcast with full commentary on BBC Radio Five Live.

England National Football Team Home stadium

For the first 50 years of its existence, England played its home matches all around the country; for the first few years it used cricket grounds, before later moving on to football clubs’ stadiums. England played their first match at Wembley Stadium in 1924 against Scotland, but for the next 27 years used Wembley as a venue for Scotland matches only.

The Wembley Stadium is a stadium in Wembley, located in the London Borough of Brent in London, England. It is owned by The Football Association (FA) via its subsidiary Wembley National Stadium Limited, and its primary use is for home games of the England national football team, and the main English domestic football finals.

On 4th December, England was drawn on group C. The Three Lions will be playing their first match against The United States on 12 June 2010, followed by Algeria on 18 June 2010, and in the last group match will face Slovenia on 23 June 2010. England 2-0 USA – 28 May 2008

Every body knows tht England and USA will be in front of each other in the first round of the World Cup. A friendly match in between these two team was played last yar in 2008, when England beat USA with 2-0.

Both sides then begun to make full use of their six permitted substitutions as the game drifted on. There were a few moments for England but the USA continued to disappoint. In the 59th minute one of England’s substitutes, Gareth Barry, made an instant contribution when his pinpoint through-ball left Steve Gerrard one on one with the keeper. The excellent Gerrard made no mistake slotting the ball in at the far post.

The 2-0 game was over as a contest although it had never really reached the heights of being called a contest! The match petered out, with the crowd starting the ‘Mexican wave’, a sure sign of boredom, some twenty minutes from the end.

For England, Rio Ferdinand and John Terry looked very comfortable at the back and Steve Gerrard was rightly awarded the man of the match award. For the USA it was a disappointing night, but striker Eddie Johnson worked hard all evening.

Slovenia vs England Tickets

Despite failing to qualify for the 2006 World Cup, they were the only team to beat Italy on their way to winning the tournament with a shock 1–0 victory on home turf. It wasn't the only time they avoided defeat against the team – in 1995 they held them to 1–1 draw in the qualifying campaign for UEFA Euro 1996, and also took the lead. In November 2009, Slovenia defeated Russia in a playoff to clinch a berth in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

They did not lose a match in their whole qualifying campaign, recording six wins and six draws. However, they did not do as well in the finals, as they went home pointless.

A game in between Algeria and England is going to be held in the World Cup first round at Port Elizabeth, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. England vs Algeria Tickets

The Algerian national team was formed in clandestine circumstances in 1958 when Mohamed Boumezrag, a leader of a section of the Front de Libération Nationale (FLN) of Algeria based in metropolitan France, returned from the 1957 World Youth Festival, in which a team representing Algeria, then a French colony, had taken part in an unofficial football tournament.

Even though Algerian team has not a good record for World Cups, the team defenatily have the potencial to face any stronger team, England sure is a good candidate but Algeria can give them tough times, A game in between Algeria and England is going to be held in the World Cup first round at Green Point, Cape Town, South Africa. Argentina and England football rivalry

The Argentina and England football rivalry is a highly competitive sports rivalry that exists between the national football teams of the two countries, as well as their respective sets of fans. Games between the two teams, even those that are only friendly matches, are often marked by notable and sometimes controversial incidents.

The rivalry emerged across several games during the latter half of the 20th century, even though as of 2008 the teams have played each other on only 14 occasions in full internationals. It was driven by various controversial incidents, particularly those in the games played between the teams at the 1966 and 1986 FIFA World Cups. The rivalry was also intensified, particularly in Argentina, by a non-footballing event, the 1982 Falklands War (Spanish: Guerra de las Malvinas) between Argentina and the United Kingdom. However despite the intense rivalry between the national sides and its high media and public profile, numerous Argentine players have played for English club sides with few problems, with many such as Osvaldo Ardiles and Ricardo Villa becoming extremely popular with fans in England.

Emerging Trio

Not since Jimi Hendrix played Woodstock, has an England squad featured so many players from the blue halve of Manchester. The names; Lee, Bell, and Summerbee, adorned England teamsheets 40 years ago, while the players were treasured and celebrated by the thousands who streamed into Maine Road each week. Recent selections by the current England manager has made the ears of Manchester City fans twitch once more, as four of their current crop are included in Mr Capello’s plans, the same number chosen from their rivals from Old Trafford. The tide that governs the England national set-up is changing. Gone are the days when monopolisation by the ‘Big Four’ dominated the thoughts of the England manager. Sven Goran Eriksson, and his successor, Steve ‘Umbrella’ McClaren, were renowned for selecting players based on reputation, an aspect that Capello has been keen to avoid, which has led to younger players emerging into the England set-up.

Capello has opted for the bright lights of White Heart Lane, bestowing responsibility to Peter Crouch and Jermaine Defoe to provide goals in the absence of Michael Owen, who has not received his customary ‘arm around the shoulder’ treatment from the shrewd Italian. Fringe players, such as Ashley Young and James Milner, accompany their team mate, the phoenix-like, Emile Heskey, whose England career has been revolutionised since Capello began steadying the unsettled ship of English football just 22 months ago.

Intervention by David Gill, the Manchester United Chief Executive, has led to Dave Galley being denied the opportunity to work with the England squad. Gill feared that Galley, the physiotherapist at Liverpool, would witness the injury problems of Manchester United’s England players, and could relay his findings back to his colleagues at Melwood. Such stories further fuel the fires of the clashes between Benitez and Ferguson, while the later has already resumed his on-going conflict with Arsene Wenger this season. Maybe the ‘Big Four’ of English football should cease fighting between themselves and attend to the threat from the emerging trio that’s evident from the following statistics; City, Spurs and Villa have 10 players in the current England squad while the ‘Big Four’ have just 9.

It remains to be seen whether City, Villa and Spurs can profit from their player’s inclusion in the current England squad. Villa seemed to have overcome their opening-day blip, while Spurs and City will aim to build on 100% records. In a week when Noel Gallagher has called an end to his Oasis career, he claimed, amongst other things that, ‘he’s got a football team to indulge’. Noel’s clearly anticipating that something exciting is happening at his beloved football club, and wants to be there for the ride. All signs indicate that the current Premiership campaign has the ingredients for a close and competitive race, while for the first time in years; it appears the Big Four’s party has gatecrashers with genuine means for attendance.

England vs Croatia in the Qualifiers

England had qualified for the World Cup after a 5-1 victory over Croatia at Wembley. Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard both scored twice in the rout while Rooney scored England's fifth in a well deserved victory that secures England's place in South Africa next summer.

England outplayed their opponents throughout the game, with Lennon and Glenn Johnson looking particularly dangerous on the right-hand side. Eduardo did score a scrappy consolation goal for the visitors and mistakes like that will irritate England's perfectionist manager, but eight wins in eight qualifiers is impressive form and can be celebrated up and down the country for tonight at least.

After qualifying now England is ready to move forward to the World Cup. Fabio Capello’s first day as England manager

Fabio Capello began his first day as England manager on Saturday as he accompanied the FA’s Brian Barwick to the third round tie between Villa and Manchester United at Villa Park.

The game it self was a dull and scrappy affair as Villa tried to stifle United. The only saving grace of the game was Wayne Rooney’s introduction in the 70th minute which brought united to life and lend to the two goals. Capello as suitbaly impressed by Waynes contribution.

It was good to be at a game where a lot of the players were English players. And, of course, to see a player like Wayne Rooney come on as a substitute in such good form and have a major impact on the game was good for me on my first day.

Fabio was also happy with the support the fans showed him,It was very good to start work today. I am delighted with the reception I got from everyone I met at the stadium. The fans were fantastic to me and Aston Villa Football Club could not have been more helpful. I am now looking forward to seeing a lot of games very quickly over the next few weeks.

The Manager is keen now and hopeful by the team progress. English Champions League

The English Champions League (often referred to as The Championship for short, or the Coca-Cola Football League Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the highest division of The Football League and second-highest division overall in the English football league system after the Premier League.

The Football League Championship was introduced for the 2004–05 season, having been previously known as the Football League First Division. According to Deloitte, in the 2004–05 season it was the richest non-top flight football division in the world, and the sixth richest division in Europe.

The winners of the Coca Cola Championship receive the Football League Championship trophy which is the same trophy as the old First Division Champions (now the Premier League) were handed prior to the Premier League's inception in the 1992/1993 season.

The current champions are Wolverhampton Wanderers, who won promotion to the Premier League on 18 April 2009, and were crowned champions the following weekend. The team were presented with the trophy on 3 May 2009, in front of a sell-out Molineux crowd. The last time the club had received The Championship trophy was back in 1959, the last time they had won the top-flight of English football.

English Premier League

The Premier League is an English professional league for association football clubs. At the top of the English football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with The Football League.

The competition formed as the FA Premier League on 20 February 1992 following the decision of clubs in the Football League First Division to break away from The Football League, which was originally founded in 1888, and take advantage of a lucrative television rights deal. The Premier League has since become the world's most watched sporting league. It is the world's most lucrative football league, with combined club revenues of £1.93 billion ($3.15bn) in 2007–08.

A total of 43 clubs have competed in the Premier League, but only four have won the title: Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, and Chelsea. The current champions are Manchester United, who won their eleventh Premier League title in the 2008–09 season, the most of any Premier League team. Chelsea currently hold the record for most points in a season, while Arsenal are the only team in the history of the league to go unbeaten in a single season. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are collectively called the big four, although Liverpool has never won the league.

As of the end of the 2008–09 season, there had been 17 completed seasons of the Premier League. The league held its first season in 1992–93 and was originally composed of 22 clubs. The first ever Premier League goal was scored by Brian Deane of Sheffield United in a 2–1 win against Manchester United. Due to insistence by FIFA, the international governing body of football, that domestic leagues reduce the number of games clubs played, the number of clubs was reduced to 20 in 1995 when four teams were relegated from the league and only two teams promoted. On 8 June 2006, FIFA requested that all major European leagues, including Italy's Serie A and Spain's La Liga be reduced to 18 teams by the start of the 2007–08 season. The Premier League responded by announcing their intention to resist such a reduction. Ultimately, the 2007–08 season kicked off again with 20 teams. The league changed its name from the FA Premier League to simply the Premier League in 2007.

Why "England vs Belarus" is Actually Quite Exciting

Weirdly, I’m kind of excited for England vs Belarus. Neither team has anything to play for, but with Rooney and Gerrard out injured (or as The Fiver put it yesterday: “Wayne Rooney has pulled out of the game against Belarus at Wembley with a severe case of having his wages paid by Manchester United.”) we get a chance to see some of the squad players have a run out.

Capello has confirmed that his starting strikers will be… Peter Crouch and Gabby Agbonlahor. Smart money would also be on James Milner to start on the left in Gerrard’s place, and Aaron Lennon to get the 90 minutes that was denied him on Saturday when he was the substitute victim of Robert Green’s sending off.

So it will be a different looking England team. Maybe even a different formation.

England team in Recent years

Now England has qualified for the World Cup and has become in the list of the first teams to join for the World Cup in South Africa, and now Capello has nine months to prepare to deliver England’s first major title since the 1966 World Cup. About England's Captain "John Terry"

John Terry was confirmed as the England captain in August, and will captain England in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. During his first match after being reinstated as the permanent England captain he was given a torrid time by Milan Baros and was turned far too easily when Baros scored the first goal for the Czech Republic. The match ended 2-2 with Joe Cole scoring a fortunate equaliser for England in the 92nd minute of the game. He scored his first competitive England goal against Ukraine in the qualifiers for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, grabbing a late winner after earlier giving away a free kick which saw Andriy Shevchenko equalise for Ukraine.

Terry beat out Liverpool’s Stephen Gerrard for the right to wear the armband. Gerrard was named vice-captain, which presumably means he’ll take over if Terry dies or is otherwise indisposed.

Terry is a powerful, domineering centre-half who underlined his magnificent ability by winning the 1998/99 Chelsea Young Player of the Year award. Such has been his meteoric progress that he made his debut for Chelsea in a Worthingtons Cup tie against Aston Villa in the 1998/99 season and went on to appear in several games, even getting on the scoresheet. In 2000/01, he won Chelsea's Player of the Year award.

Terry's first priority to qualify for the World Cup has been a successful attempta nd now he has an eye on the main even "The World Cup".Buy England World Cup Tickets to watch Terry performing live, and for that, Ticket4Football.com, is the most specialized and fully dedicated football tickets website, its best place to buy World Cup football tickets for all the popular football matches around. Prizes for England team if they win the World Cup 2010

The England football team players will get four lakh pounds each as bonus if they win the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Talks are ongoing between the players and the Football Association about bonuses for next summer’s tournament in South Africa. But the governing body has indicated they are willing to shell out 5.5 million pounds if the Three Lions are successful.

Bobby Moore and his 1966 winners got 1,000 pounds each for lifting the trophy at Wembley, The Sun reported. The 23-man squad which takes part in the finals will split the bonus on a pro-rata basis depending on how many games each plays. That means that the core of the team could easily see their share rise to nearer 400,000 pounds. The sum on offer to the stars is still small change compared to the windfall of up to 60 million pounds, which the Football Association could earn should the team go all the way.

After the World Cup 1966

The performance in the later World Cups England team varied in many occasions, at some times it look quite obvious that England is going t0 take the title but all of thier efforts have not come up with the results and still England have not won the World Cup again. The performance of Engalnd team in the World Cup Football after 1966 is provided below.

MEXICO 1970: Despite the loss of virus-stricken Gordon Banks, England went 2-0 ahead, but Sir Alf Ramsey’s decision to substitute Bobby Charlton in the closing stages coincided with a German fightback that resulted in a 3-2 defeat for England.

SPAIN 1982:

Injuries to key figures Kevin Keegan and Trevor Brooking dogged Greenwood, but a 3-1 opening game victory over France, in which Bryan Robson scored after just 27 seconds, set England on course for three group victories. But successive draws against West Germany and Spain in the next group phase led to England’s exit.

MEXICO 1986:

Another 3-0 victory against the Paraguayans in Mexico City teed up a quarter-final encounter against Argentina which was won by Diego Maradona’s two most memorable goals. His ‘Hand of God’ goal put Argentina ahead, but England had no answer to Maradona’s majestic solo goal three minutes later.

ITALY 1990: Just as the World Cup beckoned, England ran into the Germans again and a penalty shoot-out defeat in the Turin semi-final was marked by Gazza’s tears and spot-kick misses by Stuart Pearce and Chris Waddle.

FRANCE 1998: Michael Owen’s wonder goal and David Beckham’s dismissal for kicking out at Diego Simeone are enduring images, but shoot-out misses by Paul Ince and David Batty prompted England’s exit.

JAPAN/SOUTH KOREA 2002: Yet again, the Brazilians stood between England and World Cup glory and despite Michael Owen’s opening goal, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho – courtesy of David Seaman’s inability to save his long-range free-kick – progressed to the semi-finals.

GERMANY 2006:

With Wayne Rooney’s metatarsal injury hovering over Eriksson, England reached the second round following victories against Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago and a draw against Sweden which was marred by a serious knee injury suffered by Michael Owen.David Beckham’s free-kick saw off Ecuador in round two, but Rooney’s red card in the 0-0 quarter-final draw against Portugal preceded a 3-1 shoot-out defeat.

Since then England have not one any World Cup, but now in World Cup 2010 England is the most favoured team. Football tickets for the matches of Engalnd are now open and England World Cup Tickets can also be bought through this website. The 1966 World Cup win

The 1966 World Cup was held in England - there were 4 groups with the top 2 teams of each group qualifying for the quarter-finals. England, who played all their games at Wembley, qualified top of their group and then went on to win the World Cup.

A 0-0 opening draw against Uruguay led to doubts over England's ability to dethrone Brazil, but England reached the last eight following victories over Mexico and France. In the game against Argentina, Geoff Hurst took over from Jimmy Greaves in attack- Greaves had received an injury to his leg in the victory over France but had not scored in the group phase and he did not get his place back in the team for the rest of the tournament. The Argentineans played a very physical game and their captain, Antonio Rattin was sent off in the match (and had to be escorted off the pitch). With the advantage of the extra man, Hurst headed in the only goal to win the game for England.

The World Cup Football tickets in the final were sold out quite earliar than the match as it was to be played in between two of the most capable teams of that time thats why football tickets were bought by the fans of both teams,in the match Germans started well and Helmet Haller scored after only 12 minutes after a mistake by the full back Ray Wilson. After 18 minutes, however, Geoff Hurst replied for England with a header. England controlled the early part of the second half and in the 78th minute Hurst's shot was blocked and Martin Peters put the loose ball into the net. England were now leading 2-l but just before the full time whistle the referee Dienst (from Switzerland) awarded West Germany a free kick just outside the box. Weber scored from short range after a mix up in the box to make the full time score 2-2. England then took the lead 3-2 in the first half of extra time (after 98 minutes) - Alan Ball crossed and Hurst had a shot that that came off the top of the crossbar before "just" crossing the line (in the opinion of the Soviet linesman Bakhramov - he may not have been right but he gave the benefit of the doubt to the home team). Geoff Hurst completed the only World Cup Final hat-trick to date right at the end of extra time by running onto a long ball by Bobby Moore and shooting past the German goalkeeper into the roof of the net.

The England Football Team

The English national football team represents England in international association football and is controlled by The Football Association, the governing body for football in England. England , one of the four nations of the United Kingdom, has its own football team. Although cricket is the rage in the country, football also has carved a niche for itself in England’s sports. In the early years football matches were played on cricket grounds. Even the first official international match against Scotland in November 1872 was played in the cricket grounds of the West of Scotland Cricket Club.

Traditionally, England’s greatest rivals have been Scotland in football history and also in other tournaments the World Cup Football Tickets for the matches in between these two matches, who were their opponents in the first-ever international football match in 1870.
